Joseph Ayala is a senior student at Porterville High School’s Partnership Academy of Business and Finance, also known as PAB. Joseph currently works in the on-campus PAB Student Store as a cashier, where he serves students daily who come to purchase food, drinks, and spirit gear.
“In my Pathway, I have been able to master the art of customer service. I have also been able to understand how to handle money, which is a very important skill one needs in their life.”
This past summer, Joseph completed an internship at Benny’s Auto Sales in Porterville. From that internship experience, he saw the ins and outs of a car dealership. “I was able to grow a connection with the owners and improve my speaking skills, and even learn a little more about business management.”
Joseph is very involved with extracurricular activities on campus. He serves as the Panther Band’s drum major, participates in the Fabulous Studio Band, and is a member of the Concert Choir. Joseph is also the president of the CSF (California Scholarship Federation) chapter at Porterville High School.
“My favorite part of being in the Business Pathway is growing connections with many people, whether they are fellow students or business men and women from our community.”
Joseph knows that his Pathway has prepared him well for his future.
“No matter what Pathway you choose, you will undoubtedly enjoy your time. Being in a Pathway has allowed me to grow connections with peers and mentors and it has taught me important life skills. Pathways gives you an amazing experience and advantage no matter where you go or what you do after high school.”
On a district level, Joseph serves as a Pathway Ambassador, representing the Pathways program as a whole at various events and functions throughout the school year.
