Garner Holt AniMakerspace Lab
Welcome to the PUSD Pathway's AniMakerspace Lab!
The Garner Holt AniMakerspace Lab officially opened in September of 2021 on the Citrus South Tule site in Porterville. The Citrus South Tule school started in 1874 with an original one-room school house still located on site.
Due to low enrollment, Citrus South Tule lapsed to Porterville Unified School District in 2015. Two years later, in 2017, the Future Ready Lab / Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ opened on this site.
The AniMakerspace Lab is an environment created to engage students in real-world, career-focused, hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) with a focus on making things move. The first AniMakerspace Lab was opened in Redlands, CA, in November of 2018. Inspired by the Garner Holt Productions factory in Redlands, CA, students in the Porterville area now have all of the tools and equipment necessary to create whatever they can imagine!
The AniMakerspace Lab offers 3 full-days of classes each week that explores the world of animatronics and Garner Holt Productions. Classes are taught by instructors with STEAM and education backgrounds, which will help students create, program, collaborate and produce the animatronic figures better known as "Spark-E."
The goal of the AniMakerspace is to serve as a fun and engaging learning environment and introduce a whole new world of possible careers.
The AniMakerspace Lab is located at 31374 Success Valley Drive in Porterville.
