Citrus South Tule's 150th Anniversary
Watch a highlight video from Citrus South Tule's 150th Anniversary celebration!
The Citrus South Tule school started in 1874 with an original one-room school house. For nearly 140 years, this vibrant and unique campus served the students of this community near Porterville and Springville.
Due to low enrollment, Citrus South Tule lapsed to Porterville Unified School District in 2015. The campus sat empty for a year until discussions between PUSD, the Pathways Program, and Qualcomm officials brought the idea of bringing this campus to life in a big way. In September 2017, after extensive remodel to the newer main building, the Future Ready Lab / Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ officially opened. Four years later, after some delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Garner Holt AniMakerspace Lab officially opened in September of 2021 in the building at the back of the property.
Today, this campus is as vibrant and busy as ever. Every year, over 2,500 visitors come to Citrus South Tule to experience the unique landscape and educational experiences through Qualcomm and Garner Holt Productions.
2024 marks the 150th Anniversary of Citrus South Tule School.
In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of this beautiful campus, we built a "Legacy Wall" where you can make your mark and leave your legacy on the historic Citrus South Tule campus with an engraved brick! Click here for more information on this exciting project.
On October 18th, 2024, community members, alumni, and supporters gathered together with PUSD and Pathway staff to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Citrus South Tule. During this event, we reopened the doors to the renovated one-room schoolhouse and unveiled the "Legacy Wall." Click here to read more about this special evening.
